Ceahlău National Park
The Ceahlău massif, 'the holy mountain of the Romanians', is a nationally protected area and Natura 2000 site (ROSCI 0024, ROSPA 0129).
Its main peaks are Ocolașul Mare (1,907 m) and Toaca (1,904 m), and three of the trails to the plateau start at Izvorul Muntelui. The Izvorul Muntelui visitor centre has a 2D/3D cinema, audio legends of Ceahlău and interactive games for children. Access to the Ocolașul Mare and Polița cu Crini scientific reserves requires the administration's written approval.

Ceahlău Monastery Feast – Transfiguration Pilgrimage
The Transfiguration pilgrimage, the feast of Mount Ceahlău. Pilgrims climb from Durău and Stănile hermitage and arrive the evening before for the vigil; the liturgy is held at dawn at the monastery below Toaca peak.
