Neamț Monastery and Museum Collection
The largest and oldest monastic settlement in Moldavia, built on the site of a church raised between 1376 and 1391 by Petru I Mușat; the Church of the Ascension was built by Stephen the Great.
It housed a school of calligraphers and copyists and a printing press, and its library holds over 18,000 volumes. The museum, set up in 1961, displays gold and silver liturgical objects, embroideries, carvings, manuscripts and prints. The ensemble is a listed monument (NT-II-a-A-10629).

The patronal feast of Neamț Monastery, on the Ascension of the Lord, with a vigil the evening before and the Divine Liturgy. Pilgrims venerate the relics of Saint Paisius of Neamț and the wonder-working icon of the Mother of God.
