Izvorul Muntelui Lake (Lake Bicaz)
Romania's largest reservoir by surface (32.6 km²), created after the dam was built in 1950–1960 on the middle Bistrița, 4 km upstream of Bicaz town.
Twenty-two villages were relocated, and forced labour of political prisoners was used in its construction. It was declared an aquatic nature reserve in 2000 and is skirted by road DN15 linking Piatra Neamț and Toplița.
